iOS 8 Steps Up Its Safari Game

  • By Integr8

safariWith the new larger displays on the latest iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, you might find yourself using the device to surf the web even more than before.  I personally have increased my data consumption significantly because the larger screen is enough reason to reach for my iPhone 6 Plus instead of my iPad.  This isn’t always the case; however, when I’m on the go, it tends to be more convenient to use my phone.  In this post I’m going to share two new features that were previously reserved for using Safari on your computer.

Respond To A Text Within Different Apps

  • By Integr8

message_iconOne thing that always frustrated me with prior iOS releases was the requirement of leaving my current app in order to respond to a text.  In all reality, this seems like a small task; however, it has increased my productivity quite a bit.  I can be checking or writing an email, researching something in Safari or posting something on the Integr8 Facebook page when a text comes in.  Before, I’d have to close the app I was currently in and open the Messages app to respond, then switch back.  If I decided to finish my first task before responding, I found that I’d forget to even respond back to the person.  Now, I don’t have that problem.  The following screenshots are examples of what it looks like to receive and respond to a text within a separate app.

I recently had a client who’s phone wasn’t able to be retrieved under any circumstances. When I got the call I was reminded of numerous past experiences I’ve had when working at the Apple Store. Luckily, the stars were aligned and we were able to work together in getting the information that was on the device, even without the device present. It was because of this success story that I’m posting this blog.

After getting the phone call, my heart sank a bit knowing that most of us keep some valuable things on our phone that we can never imagine losing. Immediately, I started researching what kind of options there were for getting some if not all of the important data back and accessible to my client. I came across Dr. Fone, a data recovery software by a company called Wondershare. While Dr. Fone is compatible with iOS devices, it also works with other platforms such as Android. For todays purposes, we will be covering how it works with Apple’s mobile devices.

  • By Integr8

SafeNo one can deny that we are now, well into the digital age. You store contacts, calendars, emails, passwords, documents, photos, videos, and countless other important data on our computers and mobile devices. I have already covered the topic of backing up information found on our iPads, iPods, and iPhones, and in this post, I’ll cover what you need to think about to create the best backup plan possible.

To put the importance of a proper backup plan into perspective, here is a list of a fraction of the things that can happen to a computer:

• Theft / Loss
• Accidental damage
• Something in the software becomes corrupt over time
• Important photos and documents are accidentally thrown in the trash
• Hardware failure
